They have come to challenge and intimidate James Stanger over his criticisms of the secret society.

In scene 12, the scowrers go to teach a lesson to James Stanger (The Editor Of Vermissa Herald,The Newspaper) and challenge him. James Was beaten up by harraway though McMurdo tried to stop him.
