Given all we know about the harmful effects of alcohol abuse, why do you think alcohol use is still socially approved while other harmful drugs are not?

This is an opinion question and not related to 12 Angry Men. I think generally alcohol has been socially acceptable for a long time. We can trace the use of alcohol to Biblical times which validates its use in a Judaeo Christian society.

so why other drugs are not????
