What does the knife represent?
The knife represents the idea that facts are not nessaserily all that they seem. Initially the knife was supposed to be unique and hence lay guilt on the boy. Juror number 8 however, brings out the same type of knife and slams it on the table. He adds, "I bought that at a pawn shop two blocks from the boy's house. It cost six dollars."
