I can't give you an essay on this but consider the social troubles that many blacks have in South Africa can be traced,in part, to the apartheid government which ensured that South Africa was dominated politically, socially, and economically by the nation's minority white population. The movie itself is situated post-apartheid . There is some socio-economic movement for blacks as we see by the Dube family who live in the upper-class hills. Most blacks however were relegated to lower socio-economic status, a result from the apartheid era.
