Describe the hierarchy of The Party.
Book 2: Chapter 9
Book 2: Chapter 9
As might be expected, the inner members of the Party comprise somewhere around two percent of the total population in the society. Proles, the lowest members of the society and those who do the majority of the work and those who are the most spied on, comprise nearly eight-five percent of the party. The Outer/Outside party make up about 13 percent of the country's population; they do have more privileges and freedoms, but they have total loyalty to the party.
