To what extent is poverty the most dominant theme in 1984 by George Orwell

How does Orwell a show the readers that poverty was one of the main themes in his novel.

I don't know if we can say that poverty is a dominant theme in the book. Certainly the Proles live in abject poverty but they get a fair amount of freedom in exchange. Orewell is trying to point out that poverty is acceptable to Proles if their primal needs are taken care of and their education level is low.
