What is the purpose of creating a mass hysteria in the people through the war and leaders?

Constant war inherently demands a certain amount of unity from the people. Sacrifice, nationalism and reverence for leadership are the hallmarks of "wartime peace". This refers to the fact that their is usually peace within a country during war. One of the holy slogans is in fact the paradox of "War is Peace". The party expects that leaders will be exalted and blind nationalism high during war.
