Why does Winston write that “Freedom is Slavery” and “Two and Two Make Five.”?

Winston has come to accept the principles of ingsoc. The truth is whatever the party tells him it is. Two plus two can mean 325 and Winston will believe it. Winston now understands the paradox "freedom is slavery". Freedom to think for oneself becomes a liability to the party and the people.
