Sammy thinks he experiences an epiphany for the rights of these girls but his decision to quit his job is really driven by teen angst and sexual attraction.

Sammy experiences an epiphany when he decides to quit his job. When the girls arrive in his bland, boring store, he realizes that he wants his life to hold more meaning than it does at the time, and he leaves to try and experience that kind of life that the girls are living.
