At the end of Stave Five, Scrooge does not mind that some people laugh at him for being generous. What does this attitude tell you about how deep his change of heart is?

This tells us that Scrooge has truly changed. He has tamed his ego and no longer seeks validation for his money and wealth. He freely gives because the Christmas spirit is with him all the time.
