“A small matter,”said the Ghost, “to make these silly folks so full of gratitude.” What point is the Spirit trying to make?

The point the Spirit is trying to make is that is doesn't take much to make people happy.... this is what the Spirit wanted Scrooge to remember. It's the lesson he came to teach.
