A Christmas Carol

What did Scrooge mean when he said he would like to be able to say a word to his clerk? What do you think he would have said to Bob if he could have spoken to him then?

In my opinion, Scrooge sees Fezziwig and remembers the joy of working for him..... the kindness. Because of this, he regrets his treatment of Bob and wishes to tell him he is sorry.
