A Doll’s House

Today's version does not have quite the same effect because of how drastically the world has changed since the play's conception. Today, many children are raised in single parent households, mothers work and have a life outside of their home, but regardless of this, the play (movie) continues to have an emotional impact on its audience. In the movie, Nora is portrayed as a sympathetic character. Her struggle evokes sympathy, her decision to leave her children, and the tweak in the story that actually shows her bidding her children farewell continues to be heartwrenching.
