From the outside looking in, we envision Nora's life as being pretty much perfect. She has a beautiful home, a nanny for her children, spending money to do with as she wishes. As the play continues we see that she isn't as happy as we initially believed.... the question is why? Her husband treats her like a child, but her actions and ability to take charge prove that she is anything but a child. She has a secret, but her secret isn't life ending.... nor is it marriage ending.... so why keep it? Thus, from the text, we can infer that Nora is simply unhappy and searching for what she believes is missing..... attempting to grow up in way she never had to. The marriage isn't ideal, but I don't believe it is dead.
