A Land Remembered

After two weeks on the cattle drive, Tobias is allowed to return home but he must relinquish his horse and make the journey on foot. Tobias is pleased to receive fourteen dollars for the trip, the first cash he has had for a very long time. Eight days later Tobias arrives home and praises Emma and Zech for the way they handled the bear incident while he was gone. Zech is thrilled with the whip Tobias has kept from the cattle drive and practices cracking it as Emma cooks supper.
