WHAT IS THE “LESSON" BEFORE DYING?

The lesson in "A Lesson Before Dying" is to become a man; to stand up for what you believe; that one man can make a difference. While the condemned man, Jefferson, does learn to become a man not a "hog", it is Grant Wiggins, his teacher, who ultimately learns how to become a "man".
