After reading chapters 10-15, how has Ishmaels life changed overall compared to chapters 1-9

Ishmael has lost much of the innocence he had in previous chapters. He no longer plays or listens to American rap music. He has become immersed into the violent world of child soldiers and war. His childhood is now gone and there is no returning to it.
