Fear has affected everyone in this book. Villages have scattered and families have been fragmented. People fear both the government forces as well as the R.U.F. Word has gotten out that seven boys are travelling together. Rather than sympathy for these boys, people are struck with fear thinking that they are ruthless child soldiers coming to slaughter the.
