How do the boys survive death?

The boys survive death in different ways. Sometimes they use humour or their rap act to appease villagers bent on killing thinking they are child soldiers. The boys have been under attack so many times that they no where to run to and they know where to hide. They know "disappearing" into the forest or bush is much better than running around a village dodging bullets.
