Why would the international community be concerned about child soldiers being used in violent conflicts?

Children should not have to fight wars: it is child abuse. These wars are frequently fought over resources the West buys from the country like diamonds and gold. Most people in the west do not want the blood of children in exchange for cheaper goods.
