A Raisin in the Sun

Describe the tone of the conversation between Walter and Travis at the end of this scene. How does Hansberry create dramatic irony (audience knows something that some of the other characters do not know; it’s like a secret) in this scene? Act 2 Scene 2

The tone is hopeful and excited. Travis enters the room, and Walter, excited about his new-found responsibility, tells his son about his hopes and dreams of working in a office, driving a nice car, having a nice house, and sending his son to college. We already know that that Walter is irresponsible with money and will surely squander it.
