In the poem the words 'stairs' indicate struggle of getting somewhere. so how does this relate to the relationship between walter and Lena

The poem, “Mother to Son”, and the first act of the play, “A Raisin in the Sun” are very similar in theme. Both the play and the poem concentrate on the relationship between mother and son. The mother in the paly and the poem is being candid to her son in trying to convince him that there is a better way in life than what he presently considers.
