do gene's great insights at the end of the novel reflect the point of view of gene the youngster?

I would think the narrator. The whole Gene and Finny becoming one person thing is a little far fetched for an adolescence's grasp. I think Gene feels an understated sense of relief after Finny's death. Their relationship was rather twisted. At the same time Gene seems to take on the qualities of his old friend.
