How would you have reacted to the situations the protagonist (main character) faced? Would you have reacted differently? why or why not?

I would like to think that I would not have caused the accident to my friend. I would also hope that I didn't enter into a very unhealthy relationship with anyone like Gene did with Finny. This is, however, mere speculation. I am no longer a teenager and my experience is hardly that of a New England private school during WW2. What I am trying to say is that Gene's experiences were his own. They are what make him our protagonist. WE often see ourselves through really good characters. The best place to begin is to ask yourself how you feel about what Gene dis or did not do. Good luck!
