What are two questions that relate to the theme of the book but not that actual book?

I don't have my copy with me but really the questions are subtly implied throughout the book.          

Is there latent homosexuality between the two boys? Gene and Finny have an intense emotional relationship that has a homoerotic subtext to it.        

Is Leper Lepellier jealous of Gene's relationship with Finny? This question is hinted at which brings up several more questions about what Leper's feelings towards Gene might have been.
