What is the world that Gene remembers in chapter 3?

Gene recalls the club he started with Finny and other various games he played with Finny, like "Blitzball". at the school. The memories are nostalgic and full of meaning for Gene. They lay the groundwork for Gene's relationship with Finny. I don't have the book but you can find one at the beginning of chapter 3.
