What do we learn about Puyo in Chapter 10?

In Chapter Ten, we learn that Puyo was once the country's capital. We also learn that Puyo endured a siege by enemy armies, during which, the King, his guard, and the ladies of the palace, were forced up onto cliff where they waited for the invading army. As the army approached the cliff, the women from the king's household jumped into the river below.... choosing death over capture. The place from which they jumped is known as the Rock of the Falling Flowers.
