Stanley relates to women on a sexual level: he has trouble relating to women as individuals with personalities.

He sizes women up at a glance, with sexual classifications, crude images flashing into his mind and determining the way he smiles at them.

It is not surprising that Stanley sizes up Blanche. The only way he can relate to Blanche is through sex.
