Why did Stella accidentally tear Stanley’s shirt?

Stella accidently tears Stanley's shirt trying to keep him from going bowling and trying to get him to talk to her.

STELLA:
You're not going bowling.
[She catches hold of his shirt]
Why did you do this to her?
STANLEY:
I done nothing to no one. Let go of my shirt. You've torn it.
