describe the relationship between tariq and zalmai

It was Rasheed who paid a man to tell to tell Laila that Tariq died from his injuries. Zalami worships Rasheed and hence dislikes Tariq. It was Zalami who informs Rasheed of his Tariq's visits.

Their relationship really doesn't exist at first. When Laila goes back to Tariq after Rasheed's death, her son Zalmai doesn't accept him. After all, this man was the reason his mother had been beaten brutally by his father (Zalmai had told his father that Laila had had an interaction with Tariq). Later, after his eventual return from time spent living in Pakistan, Zalmai is a bit more accepting and begins to see Tariq as a father figure.
