Because they believe the oldman hlep their child, what do they decide to with the oldman to get rid of him

They don't really get rid of him. His chicken coup breaks and they allow him around the house. Eventually he flies away on his own which is fine with them.

I think also when they neglect him and he falls sick, Pelayo and Elisenda hope that will just die.
