Really you can pick many of the characters in this story for exciting quotes: they are all part of the adventure. I'm partial to Charles Wallace. He has the strange gift of being able to read other people's minds and thoughts. His chief struggle in the book is embracing his childhood, though he knows he is infinitely smarter and more talented than the children around him.
"I really must learn to read except I'm afraid it will make it awfully hard for me in school next year if I already know things. I think it will be better if people go on thinking I'm not very bright. They won't hate me quite so much." ch 2
