Why doesn't Meg like school? What advice would you give her about school?

Meg is a bit of a misfit. She wears braces and is teased. She doesn't do well with authority figures and finds the principal unsympathetic and intrusive. Meg also has some pretty low self esteem. I might tell Meg that she is pretty special because she doesn't conform to what is expected. I'd add that she just needs to be patient.
