What is the difference between the survival styles of Pete Hernandez and Mr. Beck?

Pete Hernandez wants to make all the money he can.... charging astronomical prices for what we would consider staples. Mr. Beck, on the other hand, won't even take anymore money. He says his safe is full and the money is worthless.... what is he going to buy? Thus, Hernandez's idea is to survive by making all the money he can, whereas, Mr. Beck just want to survive, and to help others survive as well.
