Around pg 162 the atmosphere in the novel turns chaotic and hurried-the narrative reflects this, The narration switches back to Quinn's perspective. It was Tuesday and everything was about to change. On the sidewalk in-front of Springfield Central high school was a spray-painted tag so large that every student and teacher could see it: it read "RASHAD IS ABSENT AGAIN TODAY" (165). Everybody at school was talking about it, the tag was blowing up on social media. In class the teachers were trying to avoid talking about the touchy subject.
