What do we find out about Quinn’s family? How do you think this is going to play a role in the plot of the novel?

Quinn is white but faces challenges like poverty and responsibility that are similar to Rashad. Quinn struggles with the responsibilities his father’s absence after his father is killed in Afghanistan. Quinn must take care of his Ma and older brother to Willy. Quinn can relate to many of the things Rashad is going through yet there is always the separation of race.
