What two things in their new home make life unbearable for the McCourt family? Wich do you think is worse?

They only had one bed for six of them to share. That would have been uncomfortable. I think the worst part of it would have been the fleas that infested the mattress. Father had to take the mattress outside and pound it with a shoe to kill some of the fleas. The fleas would have to be the worst part of living there. They would be constantly biting all parts of your body. Yuck!
