I.E. his sparing use of commas, the absence of quotation marks, how, through a child's voice and perspective, does McCourt establish and maintain credibility?

McCourt's writing style is certainly unique. He conquers the art of the "child's voice," we hear the child speaking, not the adult. The lack of commas and quotation marks serve to highlight the narration by making the dialogue more realistic.
