5. Why does the narrator have trouble distinguishing man from animal at the end of the novel? What do these changes suggest about power and human nature?

The animals look around the room and feel that their vision is blurred. They feel that the pigs are acting the same way as the men do. They have seen the behavior of men before when Jones owned Manor Farm. Thus it is frightening to them but nevertheless what they see. Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. (Lord Acton)
