What makes boxer seem particularly human and lovable? How does Napoleon show his ruthlessness?
What makes boxer seem particularly human and lovable? How does Napoleon show his ruthlessness?
Boxer assumes the majority of the burden of labor. Now that he is working for the animals’ benefit and not Jones’s, he feels enlivened and adopts the first of his two personal maxims, “I will work harder.” In his heartiness, usefulness, and relative dullness, Boxer represents the faithful peasant.
Napoleon's ruthlessness becomes clearly evident when he lies about Boxer's fate. He claims to be sending Boxer to a rest home, when he has actually sold the loyal beast to a glue factory.
