What reason does Napoleon give for ending the Sunday meeting? Why does he really end them?

Napoleon feels Sunday morning meetings represent a threat to his authority. Napoleon doesn't want the bickering to continue, so he ends the meeting and forms a special committee of pigs to decide things.
