The commandments are slowly reduced to one statement by the end of the book: “ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS.” This simple statement is meant to encapsulate total control of Napoleon on the animals. It is meant to make pigs the ruling class which is the opposite of the socialist utopia that Old Major had envisioned.
