how do the hens react to napoleon's orders?

The Hens are ordered to increase their egg production with fewer rations. The eggs, of course, go to the pigs along with the milk. The Hens revolt refusing to lay the eggs. Napoleon has many killed to serve as an example of what happens to dissenters.

when napoleon demands the hens of their eggs, they refuse and climb up to the rafters to lay their eggs. When they do, the eggs fall and break on the ground...napoleon then cuts their rations and threatens to kill any animal that might sneak them food
