Snowball is passionate about what he says whilst Napoleon does not appear to care. Why do you think this is?

Orwell describes Snowball early in the novel, "Snowball was a more vivacious pig than Napoleon, quicker in speech and more inventive, but was not considered to have the same depth of character.” Snowball held many of the ideals that Old Major had. He wanted the farm to succeed. He worked hard and came up with innovative ideas to improve things. Napoleon was interested in his own power to begin with. Napoleon wanted power for its own sake and was willing to sacrifice all of Old Major's ideas to get it. While Snowball wanted animals to succeed, Napoleon became more like farmer Jones. Initially the windmill was Snowball’s idea and Napoleon dismissed it for this reason. When Snowball was dispatched Napoleon re-claimed the Windmill idea to gain glory and riches for himself.
