what is the message of the story of animal farm story?

The overall theme deals with good intentions of leaders before a revolution going bad. The major flaw is not the revolution but the innate greed, ignorance and lack of vision that consumed leaders and the population. This, of course, is human nature as personified by the animals in Orwell's classic novel.
