What types of conflict can you distinguish in the story?

There are all types of conflict both internal and external. Certainly external conflicts seem to frame the story structurally. Animal's vs humans, Napoleon vs animals...give us context. Then we also have internal conflicts like the situation with Boxer the horse near the end of his life.
