Who and why says “I must work harder”

This was Boxer's motto. He believed in the rebellion, but he wasn't smart enough to understand the pig's actions and manipulations. Thus, if something went wrong he worked harder, and if something else went wrong he would blame it on the animal's actions rather than the leadership. All in all, he worked himself to death for nothing.
