Why was the windmill built

Snowball wants the windmill built to spare the animals work AND to have electricity.

Snowball believedvthe concept of the windmill being built would help the amimals eith the work on the farm. After the first few years the windmill would basicslly run the farm. It would porvide heat in the winter and eletricity all year round.
