Light

Light is truth both figuratively and metaphorically to Anthem. We can follow the light throughout this story as it brings truth to everything. Liberty 5-3000is the "Golden one" where as Equality 7-2521 becomes Prometheus or the "bringer of light". Equality 7-2521 brings a light bulb to a very dark world both figuratively and metaphorically. Both Equality 7-2521 and the Golden one find a house in the forest with windows that let in light hence hope....It goes on!

The Forest

Much like one of Shakespeare's comedies, the forest provides a pastoral environment that is so different than society, it is almost magical. The forest provides Equality 7-2521 and the Golden One with an opportunity to break the shackles of their dystopian civilization and experience life in its purity.
