Polyneices' death and Creon's order that he be forbidden a proper burial are the direct cause of Antigone's dilemma. Should she obey her uncle and ruler of Thebes or disobey him to bury her brother..... should she give into his demands without question or disobey them in accordance with her beliefs? Her dilemma comes down to one important decision, and that would be to obey her uncle and the laws of man, to be subservient to mortal rule, to do her duty by the laws of her land, or to do as she believes the gods will..... to bury her brother. Unlike her sister, who refuses to help her, Antigone believes the will of the gods to matter most.... she believes that Zeus would want her brother buried. Thus, she buries him.
